Doc Kol (Koilk D’asts) is a talented Bith physician with an encyclopedic knowledge of diseases and the physiologies of many of the species in the galaxy. Even by Bith standards, he is slight of build. His medical peers are all successful and skilled professionals and would hesitate to understand Kol’s newfound affiliation with the Rebel Alliance.
He is a strict pacifist and ardently refuses to carry a weapon of any kind. This is due not only to the oath he took as a physician, but also his philosophy (and in part to the fact that all Bith are nearsighted, and as such are typically terrible shots). Koilk will always try to save the lives of those under his care, even if they are considered to be enemies by his peers.
He was recruited by a Bothan Rebel Agent named Tyree. Kol arrived at the designated mine shaft in an old mesa overlooking a wasteland to find five other recruits of diverse racial origin. An R-2 unit informed them Tyree’s shuttle had crashed and was going to lead them to him. An ISB agent and some Imperial Stormtroopers attempted to capture the group and Kol was nearly killed in a cave-in. By the time he awoke, he was in a bacta tank on Yavin IV.
The group was assigned to a Lantillian Shipwrights GX1 Short Hauler named “The Gambler”.
